Hypalon Rubber

Hypalon

Hypalon is the preferred rubber for extended outdoor applications. It is extremely resistant to weathering and ozone. It is specifically proven to withstand long durations of sunlight without cracking or becoming brittle. For that reason, you will often find Hypalon used in the construction industry, specifically used as single-layer covering to protect flat roofs.

Other strengths of Hypalon are its resistance to corrosive chemicals and flame. While Hypalon’s compression set resistance is poor, it does have good abrasion and tear resistance along with good tensile strength.

Because of its durability and ruggedness, Hypalon is often used in hoses, and even in inflatable boats.

Hypalon is not recommended for applications where it may be exposed to fuel, as it can be vulnerable in extended exposure to fuel.
